Closing thoughts

As the free starting pistol for the Terrorist team, it is the worst pistol in the game and performs considerably poorer than the Counter-Terrorist equivalents; because of this it could be argued that upgrading your pistol is more appealing on the Terrorist team, but most players will still opt to instead spend their money on utility grenades or armour.

The pistol does support an alternate burst mode, which will fire 3 bullets in quick succession, but this is often hard to control and most players see more consistent results without this.

The R8 Revolver is a strange weapon as while it has exceedingly high damage, armour penetration and is insanely accurate, its delay of 0.4 seconds before firing makes it generally ineffective. It is worth noting however that this is only true when facing skilled players who react quickly; against weaker players, the weapon can be considerably more effective.

The weapon does have a secondary firing mode which allows shots to be fired in quick succession, but the inaccuracy penalty makes this a poor choice and is commonly only able to achieve a kill when at close range.
